Judith is a jazz singer and composer. She likes to create stories and songs. And her concerts are little journeys with food for thought and a lasting smile.

Judith is music
After graduating Greek and Latin, Judith studied Jazz at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague. She now mainly focusses on writing her own material and creating new versions of old songs. Jazz remains her true love.

Her clear and warm voice with a wide range is very flexible
People often compare her voice to the sound of the late Karen Carpenter. On stage Judith takes you on a journey and above all clearly enjoys interacting with her band and the audience.

Some reviews
Judith Nijland is top of the bill jazz’. Dutch Broadcasting

‘We receive a lot of CDs from jazz groups, singers both male and female, but every now and then one of them stands out, like Judith Nijland.’ National Radio 2

‘We know Nijland as a vocalist with a warm, veiled alt, excellent timing and diction and a great musicality. (…) Judith makes the Latin language sound like a modern one.’ Jazzflits

‘It is like she revives that language with her excellent jazz singing while turning it into Latin jazz’. Jazzism

‘Nijland’s voice and performance are joined in a most intimate tone. Nijland uses a simple acoustic jazz trio supplemented with trumpet, a format enhancing her striking arrangements that approximate a theoretical math equation run amok and fully realized’. All About Jazz
